In March 2014 the first meeting of the Icelandic Geopark Forum was held at the Icelandic Institute of Natural History. Since then the Forum has met every year with the exception of 2017 and 2019. Now the formal name is Iceland National Committee UNESCO Global Geoparks. It has a broad membership with 17 representatives from various government agencies, associations and the two UNESCO Global Geoparks in Iceland.
